I have started taking some video footage of Jaron playing
baseball. I try to get a hit here, a stolen base there, and some pitching when
the occasion arises. Jaron loves to watch these videos and show his
grandparents or uncles when he gets a chance. The funny thing about baseball
videos from the stands is that you can hear more from the stands than you can
hear from the field. Like moms cheering
and dads shouting advice. The last time I showed Jaron some of his baseball
videos he said, “I didn’t realize you moms were so intense.” I told him I didn't know what he was talking about. We are perfectly calm and collected fans.
Upon further reflection, I might say Rattler moms are supportive instead of intense. Enthusiastic, maybe? Excitable? Animated? This was supposed to be a picture of Jaron sliding head first into
third base for a triple. If you look closely, you will see his feet (and his
blue socks, Nancy!). What I love about this picture is that it represents just how supportive our moms are of every player. These moms are on their feet or they have a hand in the air (or both), and it's not because they are going crazy for their own kids. They are cheering for my son. I might have been known to make a little noise for their boys as well. I love it. What a fun baseball family!
